Sure, skiing and snowboarding are great fun. But sometimes it's nice to try out a new sport on holiday. Here in See we have a huge range of alternative outdoor activities away from the pistes during the winter months.
Options include romantic winter walks, snowshoe adventures in the forests, ice skating on the local open-air rink or a visit to a cosy hut followed by a thrilling toboggan ride back down into the valley. Ready? Let's go!
During the cold winter months, the swimming lake in See freezes over and becomes a natural ice skating rink. Guests staying at the nearby Hotel Mallaun can use the huge 6000 m² ice surface for skating and curling.
Practise your pirouettes in the Paznaun Valley or test your precision with a little curling before heading back to warm up again with a hearty meal at the Hotel Mallaun.
Ice rink opening hours: Wed to Sun, 17:00 until 21:00
6000 m² natural ice rink – the largest in the Paznaun Valley
Two curling areas (24 x 2.3 m)

A great adventure for all the family
Tobogganing is one of the best family-friendly activities in See. Within the resort there is one of the region's best natural toboggan runs.
6 kilometres long
Action & fun for all the family
Cable car up to the start
Toboggans can be hired next to the cable car
Once a week floodlit night tobogganing
Floodlights and a starry sky
Once a week the toboggan run is lit up with floodlights andstays open into the evening. Gaze up at the starry sky and then enjoy the feeling of whizzing back down into the valley before heading to one of the nearby huts to warm up again.
The best way to explore the local landscape
Snowshoeing is a great way to get away from the hustle and bustle of the ski pistes and enjoy the peace and beauty of the mountains. Hire a pair of snowshoes and set out into the Paznaun Valley with friends or family for an unforgettable outdoor experience.
You can also hire a local guide to show you the best places in the region and tell you about all the local flora and fauna. After a long day out in the cold mountain air, there is no better place to warm up again with a mug of hot tee or punch than the Hotel Mallaun.
Walking in a winter wonderland
In today's hectic world, it is sometimes nice to take a little time for the things and people that are important to you. Winter walking is a great way to see the best of the region at a leisurely pace. We recommend sturdy walking boots and warm clothing. Get out, explore the valley and snap a few photos to show your friends at home before heading back to the Hotel Mallaun for a sumptuous dinner.
There's no fun like snow fun!
